Equine Volunteer Application
Volunteers will assist with mucking, grooming, and grounds work. Volunteers do not ride the horses at the Harmony Equine Center.
Please Note: There is a $25 application fee that covers the cost of administrative processing, background check fees and volunteer uniform.
However, if you are passionate about our program and are unable to pay the fee, please reach out to Megan Newhouse mnewhouse@ddfl.org to discuss options!
1. Complete the application and pay the fee - Once you complete the questionnaire below, you will be taken to the payment page. Upon completion, you'll receive an email inviting you to our next volunteer orientation. Be sure to check your junk folder, and email volunteer@ddfl.org if you don't receive a communication within 24 hours.
2. Attend orientation - Each volunteer attends a one-and-a-half-hour informational session where we provide an overview of our services, philosophies, and an introduction to our volunteer program.
3. Interview - Prospective volunteers interview one-on-one with a Dumb Friends League representative to discuss our volunteer opportunities and share expectations.
4. Attend training class - New volunteers attend a comprehensive training to learn volunteer policies and procedures, what the volunteer role entails, and become familiar with Harmony programs and services.
